Third graders hosted a Poetry Café for their families Friday in the Enrichment Center. This spring, the students have been studying different types of poetry, from haiku to ode to limerick, and they read many of their creations for their audience. Each year, teacher Leslie Tidwell challenges her students to be brave in sharing their work with the crowd, and in what has become a third grade English-Language Arts tradition, she challenges herself to be brave as well by composing a poem for the class and reading it to them at the poetry sharing event!
