Episcopal School of Acadiana is a coeducational, independent day school for students in grades PK3 through 12. Our mission is to instill in every student the habits of scholarship and honor. ESA challenges students to develop intellectually, spiritually, and physically.
Excellence from Within
A Culture of Learning
ESA teachers are lifelong learners who share their enthusiasm with their students. They establish high expectations and provide the guidance students need to meet and exceed those expectations. Visit our Academics pages to learn more about lower, middle, and upper schools and our college counseling program.
The Roots of Character
Through our Honor Codeand a balance between freedom and responsibility, students develop into people of strong character who exhibit confidence and independence wherever their lives take them. Our shared chapel experiences give each student the opportunity to develop a personal relationship with God within a welcoming community.
Beyond the Classroom
Through experiential learning, ESA students connect with the world outside the classroom and beyond the boundaries of our campuses. Opportunities range from science field work in the marsh and service at a local food bank, to learning from local artisans and backpacking in the North Carolina wilderness.
A Welcoming Community
From participatory athletics and arts programs to a club system that encourages students to start their own groups, every ESA student has the opportunity to take part. Differences are embraced, and individuals who share of themselves in class, in chapel or around campus find their efforts applauded.

The ESA Experience began in 1979 in Cade, Louisiana. The idea was to create a place where intelligence could grow, not simply through books, but through avenues such as the outdoors, chapel, French immersion, community service, mentorship, honor and family. The ESA Experience is much bigger than you or I could ever put into words. It’s the feeling on the first day of school; it’s the smell of sugarcane burning; it’s the quiet walk to chapel, or the awesome run at morning practice, the one with the sun rising and the fog hovering over the dew covered practice fields. It’s the outdoor coffeehouse performance of an 8th grader playing a piece by Beethoven. It’s knowing you’ve been prepared. Prepared for the woods, the interview, the choices you will be faced with in life. It’s the hugs you are given, or the tears you will shed. We all feel it. And that is permanent to anyone who has ever been a part of it.
At ESA we believe that Experience is Everything. Begin your own ESA Experience here.
We captured one day at ESA, from before dawn until after dusk, and from PK3 through 12th grade. Schedule your own shadow day to experience academics, athletics, arts, chapel, clubs, and more.
