Tuition & Financial Aid

We recognize that an ESA education is a significant investment. Our financial aid program provides assistance to families who otherwise could not afford the full cost of tuition. If the cost of an ESA education feels out of reach based on your family’s financial circumstances, we believe that exploring financial aid is important. The financial aid application takes approximately forty-five minutes to complete. We hope you will take the next step and fill out the application at Smart Aid (link below). Director of Admissions Jon Berthelot works with each family to determine the best path to affording this investment in your child’s future.

A registration fee of $1,000 is required with your enrollment contract and will be applied toward tuition.

ESA offers need-based financial aid to 33% of our students. We seek to keep ESA affordable, and you might be surprised that your family qualifies for assistance.

Methods of Payment

  1. Annual (one payment for full amount, paid by July 5th)
  2. Two payments (half by July 5th, other half by November 5th). Interest on the second half will be amortized at 1% per month.
  3. Ten monthly payments (July-April) automatically debited from your bank account. Interest will be amortized at 15% over the ten months.

You will be asked to contribute to several fundraisers throughout the year, the most important of which is the Annual Giving campaign. Tuition does not cover the complete cost of an ESA education. ESA makes up the difference through Annual Giving, and we ask each family to give as generously as possible to this campaign.

Financial Aid

ESA makes every effort to provide financial assistance to those families who cannot afford the full cost of tuition. ESA offers financial aid to the families of enrolled students who have demonstrated financial need as determined through the Smart Aid program. The admissions process is blind to financial need.

Financial aid awards are need-based awards. Aid is for tuition only and awards are made for a one-year term. Families must request renewal each year by completing an application with Smart Aid. The ESA Financial Aid Committee reviews all materials and notifies families of award amounts as soon as possible after decisions are made. Questions about the ESA financial aid program and requests for information about applying for aid should be directed to the Admissions Office.

Applying for Financial Aid

    1. A signed enrollment agreement and the required enrollment deposit
    2. A Smart Aid application for financial aid available for completion online through Smart Aid. Please see this instruction sheet for more details.
    3. All documents required by Smart Aid as part of the application (tax returns, etc.)
    4. Any other relevant information deemed necessary by ESA
