Eighth graders spent Monday morning helping with grounds maintenance and tree work at Avery Island's Jungle Gardens. It's an ESA tradition for eighth graders to plant trees for habitat preservation in partnership with LSU's Coastal Roots program. While last summer's drought damaged the seedlings the students intended to plant, they were still able to make a difference through their service. This spring, they'll plant seeds in the nursery on the Cade campus so that next year's eighth graders can continue the tradition!
