Here's our Q&A with Alison:What makes ESA a unique school to attend? What makes ESA unique is the amount of freedom to be around campus, as well as the relationships you build with the school being so small.
Who has inspired you as a learner and why? Dr. Gates has inspired me as a learner because of how she was getting her PhD as well as being a teacher and a mom. She inspired me to keep working even if things got stressful because I knew that she was always doing more work than me.
What has been your most challenging moment at ESA?My most challenging moment at ESA was being in the woods at Globe Trek. Although being a student athlete is difficult and finding the balance is hard, my experiences at Globe Trek were the hardest I have experienced. On the other hand, I am so thankful to have been able to go through living in the woods and learning how to deal with those challenges, both mentally and physically. They have truly made me able to endure any academic challenges that come my way.
If you had a month to study anything in the world, what would you be passionate about learning?
For a month, I would love to learn about sports medicine and/or sports psychology.
Is there anything you’d like to share with the community about your ESA experience?
The experiences, education, and connections you will make at ESA are like no other school. I know that I am able to take the academic path that interests me the most and will prepare me for what I want to do in college and my life after.
Thanks, Alison!
