ESA teachers are lifelong learners who share their enthusiasm with their students. They establish high expectations and provide the guidance students need to meet and exceed those expectations. Through our Honor Code and a balance between freedom and responsibility, students develop into people of strong character who exhibit confidence and independence wherever their lives take them. Our shared chapel experiences give each student the opportunity to develop a personal relationship with God within a welcoming community.

Through experiential learning, ESA students connect with the world outside the classroom and beyond the boundaries of our campuses. Opportunities range from science field work in the marsh and service at a local food bank, to learning from local artisans and backpacking in the North Carolina wilderness.

From participatory athletics and arts programs to a club system that encourages students to start their own groups, every ESA student has the opportunity to take part. Differences are embraced, and individuals who share of themselves in class, in chapel or around campus find their efforts applauded.
