Mary Katherine Loos, '15

Mary Katherine Loos became an ESA Falcon as a second grader in the fall of 2004 when the Lower School opened. She went on to graduate from ESA in 2015, and earned a Bachelor of Arts from LSU in 2018. In 2021, MK earned a Juris Doctor and a Graduate Diploma in Comparative Law from the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center, passed the Louisiana Bar Exam, and was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar. MK lives in Baton Rouge, where she is an associate attorney in the commercial litigation practice group at Breazeale, Sachse & Wilson, L.L.P.

“ESA's rigorous academic program and emphasis on critical and independent thinking provided me with the skills needed to manage complex problems and adapt to various challenges,” MK says. “Additionally, ESA's strong focus on leadership, community service, and personal growth instilled in me a profound sense of responsibility and the importance of contributing to the community.”

MK says she loved AP French Language with Madame Maggini. With only four students in the class, the students enjoyed a unique and personalized learning experience. She says Madame Maggini is one of the most intelligent people she has ever met, and the challenges she presented were always designed to benefit the students. She was genuinely invested in their success, both inside and outside the classroom.

MK’s advice for future ESA graduates:  “Make the most of the freedom ESA offers you to make your own choices. This is an excellent way to build the confidence you need for life after high school. By taking charge of your decisions, you will start developing the skills and self-assurance necessary to face challenges and embrace opportunities.”

Thanks, MK!
