To prepare for their chicken wing dissection lab, fifth-grade students identified materials, established procedures, and asked questions. As they dissected the chicken wings, they observed the inner workings of the muscular and skeletal systems, and identified bones, tendons, muscles, cartilage, and types of joints. In the post lab write up, the scientists described the materials used in the lab, the procedures followed, and their observations, and they drew scientific pictures to illustrate what they learned.
