Good Citizen

Andrew Crochet, '25, has been chosen by the upper school faculty to receive the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award in recognition of his dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism! The DAR award is given each year to a senior who supports and respects our ESA community and works to make it a better place. Andrew is a leader on ESA's Pep Squad, a cross country runner, an actor and singer for ESA Performing Arts and other programs, and a member of the Eco Club. He is also an artist who primarily uses acrylic paints. He is currently working on an independent study based on the aesthetics of the Wild West and the modern interpretation of it, through use of trends like bedazzled cowboy hats and resurgences of western fashion. His “gritty-glamour” approach is characterized by saturated colors, glitter, and compositions that bring to mind classic westerns and the romanticization of the west. The self-portrait above will become part of a painting in his collection to be included in his portfolio that he will submit to college art programs. Congratulations, Andrew!
