Creating Festivals

Mrs. Stokes’ sixth-grade Louisiana Studies classes have been studying the cultural and physical aspects of Louisiana. They learned about some of our natural resources, including bodies of water, physical and cultural regions, and ethnicities that make up our state. Students were asked to choose one element that they learned about Louisiana to create a festival that they felt would benefit the state.

Social media ambassador Ainsley Bourgeois, '25, (@falconlife_ainsley) documented the event for us and shared this: "My classmates and I were invited to come and hear about the festivals they created. Some of the festivals included a Nascar Festival, Princess and the Frog Festival, Justin Jefferson Festival, and a Facial Festival. I loved hearing how the students thought their festivals would benefit Louisiana. After hearing from the students, we had the opportunity to vote for our favorite."
